BRAZZAVILLE (LNC) – New CAR elect President Faustin TOUADERA was on past Tuesday in Brazzaville for a one day working visit.
Must note that Central African Republic’s new president who was absent during the swearing in ceremony of his Congolese counterpart on April 16, took the opportunity equally to come to congratulate him following his recent re-election.
Both statesmen had conversations in private at the Presidential palace. On the agenda of the discussions: Common interests, both bilateral and multilateral cooperation, the DDR Process, and generally reinforce greater friendship, goodwill and mutual understanding.
The Car President took also the opportunity to thank President N’Guesso on behalf of his people: « You know, president Sassou has played a key role in looking for peace in Centrafric. If peaceful elections in CAR may have taken place, It is because of his efforts as the international facilitator in the Car crisis.That is why it is our duty, in all friendship, and in all brotherhood, to come and express our appreciation.»
Touadera’s visit to Brazzaville is the second since his election on April 14, 2016.
At the height of Central African Republic’s crisis, the Republic of Congo gave the country financial aid of 25 billion CFA Francs (over 43 million U.S. dollars), besides sending soldiers and police officers to help in restoration of peace.
