SANTIAGO (LNC) — On January 27, the Chilean Senate gave its green light to sending Officials of the Chilean Armed Forces to join MINUSCA, specifically to the cities of Bangui and Kaga Bandoro, under the eaves of the Joint Staff Officer (EMCO).
Defense Secretary Marcos Robledo told Officers integrating the mission:
” The Joint Staff Officer and the Defense Department have resolved to begin this mission of peace with Lieutenant-Commander César Gajardo of the Chilean Navy, the Army Major Fernando Mella and the Squadron Commander of the Air Force Jorge Bustos. […] We are confident in your capacity to carry out this task, and fulfill an excellent labor “.
“It is a tremendous challenge for us as Chileans to take part of this UN mission. We are fully confident in our ability to reach the objectives, because, we were very well prepared by the Joint Center for Operations of Peace in Chile”, stated back the Navy Captain César Gajardo.
