Qatar Chamber highly welcomes a visiting CAR delegation
DOHA [LNC] – Qatar Chamber hosted a meeting two days ago for a delegation of the Prime Minister of the Central African Republic, headed by Minister Mahamat Taib Yacoub, Special Advisor on Cooperation with the Arab World, currently visiting Doha.
The QC vice chairman, Mohamed bin Towar al-Kuwari said that Qatar Chamber highly welcomes the visiting delegation and ready to offer assistance for encouraging Qatari businessmen to invest in Central African Republic. He affirmed that Qatar is interested to increase its investment In Africa which has enough investment opportunities.
CAR representative on its side, had expressed its keenness to attract Qatari investments in several major industries, according to Mohamed bin Towar al-Kuwari.
CAR Minister Mahamat Taib Yacoub said his country has “multitude of business opportunities in agriculture, mining, and oil.” He thanked the chamber for hosting the meeting, and called on Qataris to visit his country to explore the investment climate and incentives introduced by its government.
“The meeting focused on ways of enhancing co-operation relations and informing Qatar Chamber and Qatari businessmen on the investment opportunities available in Central African Republic,” al-Kuwari said.
Yacoub added that CAR is a landlocked country in Central Africa spanning 623,000 square kilometres with a population of 5mn people. He emphasised that CAR “is very keen” to strengthen co-operation ties with Qatar and in attracting Qatari investments.
“I would like to thank the chamber for hosting this meeting, and I am calling on Qataris to visit our country to explore the investment climate and incentives introduced by our government,” Yacoub said.
“Qatar is interested to increase its investment in Africa, which is replete with profitable investment opportunities,” al-Kuwari said back.
Following, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs H E Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi met too Mahamat Taib Yacoub. During their talks, they reviewed ways to support, develop and enhance prospects for cooperation, as well as matters of mutual interest.
