BANGUI (LNC) – At least, this morning of Wednesday, a presidential decree has appointed the congolese from DRC, Colonel Toussaint Muntazini Mukimapa as the prosecutor of the Special Criminal Court (SCC) in CAR.
Back on 3 June 2015, when the Head of State of the Political Transition, Catherine Samba Panza, promulgated a law on the creation, organisation and functioning of the SCC to pave the way to justice for victims, and hold accountable Seleka and anti-Balaka warlords who have committed crimes in the CAR since December 2012. Just under 16 months later, the court had yet to become fully operational.
This Court that is mixed, will be in charge of judging the serious crimes committed in the country since 2003. A considerable challenge in this country where Justice remains a dream, and where mass murderers continue to freely kill innocent people.
The task will be a very complex and challenging undertaking, for Col. Toussaint Muntazini Mukimapa, who is since end of 70′ a military magistrate in DRC.
