BANGUI (LNC) – On Tuesday morning, (12/06/2016), the avenue Boganda, more specifically the “United Nations” roundabout were paralysed by hundreds of taxi-men having erected barricades. They came from all areas of the city, to voice their deep discontent, particularly against the government, complaining against increased insecurity conditions in which they are forced to work.
Claims on security concern throughout the city, following the murder of a taxi-driver behind the base of the MINUSCA towards the bridge Jackson. Both government and the MINUSCA were singled out by the demonstrators, who found them guilty of inaction.
JS BOKASSA the Minister of the Interior and the police commissioner (OCRB) were forced to go on site, to negotiate with them, in the hope to remove barriers.
Finally, after lengthy discussions, the taxi-driver previously arrested will be released, and traffic will go back to normal around 10 am.
