BATANGAFO (LNC) –They are four, with among, DRC & OXFAM, telling suspend their non-essential activities in the city, as becoming, according to them, a no-go-zone filled with repeated attacks on civilians and humanitarian actors by armed groups in neighbourhoods since beginning of November.
They think that MINUSCA missed its role in safeguarding the population and the humanitarians, pointing out its inertia for quick action in time.
Oxfam as others had had its base jacked recently.
Already on past August, Isidore Ngueuleu from Oxfam had denounced MINUSCA’s passivity and its under-funded:
« $920 million allocated per year, plus 12,000 troops, that is not good enough for a huge country like CAR.
Because of this, that begins an incapacity for them to react quickly.
And this is a strong call coming from the civilian population themselves.
Again an incapacity to be able to patrol on back roads, but also to conduct night-time patrols, or to make night-patrols or foot patrols. »
