BANGUI (LNC) — As we guessed few days ago, the “likely” president of the Centrafric, just comes on this Saturday, February 20th, 2016 to maintain his good performance during the presidential election first round.
Marie-Madeleine N’kouet Hoornaert, the chairperson of the National Authority for the Elections (N.A.E) has just published the final results.
Faustin-Archange Touadéra is elected by popular vote for a term of five years, obtaining the absolute majority with 695,559 votes cast, that is 62,71% of the votes; leaving away his opponent Anicet-Georges Dologuélé behind him, who consequently obtained 413.352 votes, or 37,29% of those who voted.
However, the result of this 2nd round needs to be validated before being official by the Constitutional Court of Transition, the independent external validator.
The Constitutional Court of Transition (CCT) has a period of 15 clear days to confirm.
