BANGUI (LNC) — Regina Konzi Mongot, the only female to run for the presidential election, has been one of candidates disappointed by the way the first ballot turned up. So like other unfortunate candidates, she appealed appealed to the Constitutional court of transition. But surprisingly two days ago ago, she changed her mind by removing her request.
Anyway, refuses to budge on cases of election fraud, but opted for an approach of appeasement:
” In the name of peace building and national unity, I am a woman fighting for peace, and it is not all of my thousand votes, not took in count by the authority in charge of the elections in Centrafric that could push me to turn back to my fellow countrymen; who count on me for the reconstruction of our country.
I am well aware of the suffering of the Central African people and do not wish to aggravate it through complaints. Children, Women, all the Central African people are in the distress for 3 years and hope for a better future as soon the end of these elections. [..] No candidate was unworthy. We all, Central Africans, must together retake our country and rebuild it in Peace and Unity.”
