BAMBARI (LNC) — Oumar Tidjani, advocate of Muslim youth of Ouaka province said: “On yesterday, Anti-Balaka, armed militiamen freely attacked three vehicles coming from city of Bokolobo, located at 10 km of Bambari, on the road towards Alindao. They killed at least 3 people, 7 were wounded, and kidnapped four peul children. After that, they reached city of Akpé to destroy houses and Muslim assets.“
From the Anti-Balaka side, the facts are not in dispute: “All of that was perpetrated by some unguided elements”. But where are the children abducted? “We are unable to speak to that.”
On the other hand they deny having burned houses. “It’s in the habits of the UPC (Seleka), acting like that. They destroy things, and after, accuse us for having done them.” tells Marcelin Orogbo, the Secretary-General of the coordination of Antibalaka militia in the Ouaka prefecture.
The MSF [Médecins sans frontières, Doctors without borders] rules as possible as they can the regional hospital of Bambari, the sole one active in the area. “Our staff is overwhelmed” they stated.
Many of frightened inhabitants took refuge within its surrounding wall.
Death toll of around ten people is alleged, but that hasn’t been confirmed yet. A dozen houses were burned, others surrounding Bambari were burned too, but not yet took in account.
The international forces in Bambari have not ventured outside of the city, that allows violence and aggression to flourish, with roaming armed men all around.
The vital road transport Bambari-Grimari to Bangui is paralyzed, becoming a real cut throat.
